Sent for further Mammogram calcification/swollen lymph node

Hi I'm posting for the first time just to say i don't have a diagnosis yet and am hoping for positive news next Friday.

They have taken loads of biopsy sections from 3 areas on my right breast and under my arm.

I'm scared but glad they have picked up on it so early, this was my first ever mammogram.

I have been through another scary time in my life, I collapsed while in a Zumba class and was rushed to hospital with a heart rate of 260bpm. After being treated they found I had ARVC which is cardiomyopthy and I now have a pacemaker/defibrillator inserted into my chest!  That was 4 years ago and i'm still here!

I just want to reach out to any other women who are in my position or know what i can expect?

Thanks

  • Hi CrazyChickenLady

Welcome to the forum and loving the choice of username! I'm glad to hear that you're doing well after your scare with the ARVC. It sounds like it was a very scary time for you.

I can see that you've been chatting to [@natm]‍ and [@sealove]‍ who are in a similar position on another thread.

We'll be hoping that you have positive news at your appointment on Friday. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you Jenn I hope everything gos ok on Friday.

I haven't told my family because I dont want to worry them.

  • I haven't told my family either, I had the three biopsy and a sample from my lymph node

anxiously waiting, you're not alone xx

  • I got my results on Friday and I have cancer.

They told me I have 2 types Ducta carcinoma insitu and Invasive ductal cancer.

I dont know how long I have had it as it did not show up when checking my breasts. I was lucky that they have found it and now Im on a journey to get rid of it!  I have to have a CT scan before they start treatment because we dont know if it has spread from my lymph node to any other parts of my body.

I'm trying so hard to be positive and my husband has been a tower of strength.  I now face telling my family and a trip to Sussex to see them as we live in Wales.

I hope you get better news and please don't let it beat you!

    Hi Crazychickenlady,

I am so sorry to hear that your diagnosis was not good news. Do you know what grade your cancer is?  I hope that your CT scan doesn't show up any spread elsewhere.

It is difficult to be positive at this stage, because there are so many unknowns and you feel dragged along by the tide, as things are happening so fast. Please try to hang on to your positivity, as it makes a huge difference in dealing with all you are going through.

I am glad to hear that your hubby is so supportive. This also makes a huge difference. Keep him involved in all that is happening, as it is a great help to have someone who you can express your hopes and fears to. You will find that how you break the news to your family, will determine how well they accept it. Again, if you can be positive about the outcome, this makes it easier for everyone.

I just wanted to let you know that there are many of us here battling breast cancer and, refusing to let it beat us. I have had 2 bouts in the past 10 years and am still putting up a fight.

I hope that your trip to Sussex goes as well as it can and, that you continue to do well despite the diagnosis.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine

My trip to see the family went as well as it could, I tried really hard to stay positive and explained what was found.  Everyone is shellshocked but at least its all out in the open now.

I now have my c.t. booked for next Monday.

    Fingers and toes crossed xx

    Hi Crazychickenlady,

Well that's another hurdle overcome. You will find things much easier to cope with now that your family know.

I hope that your CT goes well next Monday.

    Have everything crossed for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
