Lymph nodes

I have had bumps in my neck for years now, probably lymph nodes and recently one has gotten swollen. Is it unhealthy to have these, NON SWOLLEN, for a lonn time? Should i see a doctor?

    HI Blueskys,

I am so sorry to hear of the problems that these are causing you. Have you any plans for treatment yet?

We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

  • I have got my appointment on Wednesday 27th about the plan going forward. I don't think it has all sunk in yet. Just more worried about things going forward with having a baby as she takes up most my energy currently

  • Very similar to how my parotid mixed state tumour formed. Pleomorphic ademona. There's a few other tumours like this. Most are benign if undisturbed. It's very very rare for this to be a tumour. Iirc it's 1 in 50,000 people for my one. Get it checked! So many people mistold me on my tumour, saying its normal for lymph node to swell like that for months... Years..... it was on my neck for around 4 years after a marginal recession surgery April 2019.

Mine was roughly the size of a golf ball, maybe a tiny bit smaller. Surgery is well you'll get told if it comes to that but relax and get it checked.

    Hi Blueskys,

I am glad to hear that you have got your appointment through for Wednesday. This comes as such a shock that it takes some time for it all to sink in. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years and am currently having investigation for a third. I won't say that it'll be easy. It'll be a challenge, but you will get through it all.

What age is your baby and do you have any family or friends who can help out? Don't be too proud to accept any offers of help.

I hope that it all turns out well and, please remember that we are always here for you on good days and bad.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
