Hi all. Just over a year had passed since I was first diagnosed with rectal cancer. My profile describes the treatment I had and I am now hopefully cured of cancer(s). It would appear that I had two instances of cancer ( rectal and undiagnosed prostate). My surgery was quite radical and is known as total pelvic externation which while curing me has left me with twin ostomies ( colostomy and urostomy). I guess many would be horrified about have such extensive surgery, but for me it has saved my life and I am almost back to normal fit and healthy living and most people would not have a clue what I have been through. Wondering if there are others here who have been in the same situation?
