Taking Letrozole for peritoneal sarcoma

Hello,

I am new to this particular forum. My intial diagnosis following a hysterectomy was Leiomyosarcoma . 2 years on and I now have a shrinking tumour in my pelvic area plus now another in the peritoneum. I am told the cancer is now terminal could have 6 month to one year, who knows. I have told my oncologist I am willing to try anything so she has put me on a course of letrozole. Until now I have felt pretty good, but the side effects are not great. I have constant hot flushes so cannot sleep, I ache everywhere, recently became quite dizzy and feint. No energy, walking any distance difficult and am wiondering now if it is really worth it. I have booked holiday abroad, but am now wondering if I will be okay. Guess I have to wait and see if this awful drug is having any positive effect.

  • Hi JDBunny and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the news you've been given but I hope the Letrozole can help to keep things at bay.

I'm sure other members with the same diagnosis will stop by for a chat soon but hopefully you'll hear from some of our breast cancer members as well as Letrozole is commonly used as a treatment for breast cancer.

If you're finding the side effects difficult to manage then do get back in touch with your oncologist to see if there is anything they can do to help.

I really hope you're able to go on holiday JDBunny and wish you all the best.

    Kind regards,
