Bit nervous

Waiting for results of a biopsy on my right breast. They found microcalcification cells. Trying not to worry but hubby works abroad, sons in the RAF and its difficult not to overthink in the wee small hours. It’s only been two days but it’s the weekend tomorrow so probably won’t hear anything till after. They said 7-10 days but that’s an awfully long time when you’re worried sick.

  • I haven’t decided yet whether I want to take anyone with me...I kind of feel if my husband can’t come with me I’d rather be alone but I may change my mind. Lots of worries and decisions to make,x

    Hi Janey,

Most surgeons prefer to give you your results and discuss possible treatments face-to-face, but some do give the news via phone or letter. This is regardless of whether the news is good or bad.

I am sure that this is not the news that you were hoping for, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Have you been given any idea of when your X-ray ,CT and surgery are likely to take place?

I hope that things are not as bleak as you are now expecting. Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Do let us know how you get on...

Must admit I was shocked at the time, but the next day I had a letter with appointment for the oncologist and it was so obvious I would be needing chemo...so at least reading the letter didn't send me in a tailspin....xxx

  • Well, I went for my consultation. It isn’t cancer...its a collection of benign cells...~B3 if that means anything...I stopped listening properly once she said it wasn’t cancer. I have to have a lumpectomy to remove the cells and surrounding tissue as if they’re left theres a high chance they’ll become cancerous. I’m so relieved and have actually started sleeping better already.

thank you all so much for your advice and support. This group is brilliant at putting peoples minds at ease xxx
