New to forum

Hi everyone.  I'm new to this forum and came on to pick up ideas really.

I had my op last year, chemo Feb to April 18, radiation June to July and Herceptin for 11 sessions.   Was meant to be 18 sessions but I had an allergic reaction to It.

Lost all my hair and it's taken 8 months to get to this stage and its grown back darker and curly.  Fascinating!  Had my first cut last week.

Just wanted to say hello and lend support in any way I can.

    Hi Learner,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason you're here.

I am so sorry to hear that you had an allergic reaction to Herceptin. Did you get anything instead of it when you discovered this?

I am glad to hear that your hair has grown back. It always seems strange that straight hair becomes curly and vice versa, also that the colour can change - welcome to the new you and, I hope that all continues to go well for you.

Please keep in toutch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Marlyn,

I shall be thinking of you on 3rd and hope that it all goes well.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years. The first time I had a lumpectomy, followed by Tamoxifen. A year later I had a double mastectomy followed by Letrozole for 6 years. I just wanted to reassure you that both operations were perfectly 'doable' and much easier than I expected.

I can understand your worries about chemo, but I am afraid that I cannot help you with this, as I have never had chemo.

Please keep in toutch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
