Pathology results

Hi,

Ive had part of an extremely rare tumour removed from the base of my spine 4 weeks ago. I have yet recieved my results. I call every week and my surgeons and support nurses are great, but apparently im awaiting pathology results.

 

My case is extremely rare, so i understand it may take a little longer for my results are ive been in limbo with no answers for a long time.. but im losing a battle with my mind at the moment. Im in so much pain too.

 

Anyone else waited this long?

    Sorry to hear about your wait.

    I too had my brain tumour removed and it was on 6th Dec, so far I have had one post OP meeting on 18th Dec with the oncology consultants to discuss my tumour grade and they confirmed it as Glioma. But they said further tests are pending to confirm the type of Glioma and results can be expected only in the first week of January. I'm told I defnintley need radiotherapy from end of January. But at the moment waiting patiently as I understand it's the festive season. Though I'm not enjoying the wait I just feel that the consultants and others may want to have some time off during this time of the year.
