Hi i am new to the forum.

December 2014 i was diagnoised with stage 2 Womb cancer. January 2015 i had a hysterectomy. It changed my life so much to how i feel about myself. I have never got over the shock of being told that news. I had a lot of support from family and friends. I still get very emotionel at times about it. My husband is so supportive. I have spoken to other people that has gone through Cancer, and find it helps to talk.

  • Hi elderberry and welcome to the forum.

I'm really sorry to read about the impact being diagnosed with womb cancer and the hysterectomy has had on you elderberry but it's lovely to read that your friends and family have been an invaluable source of support for you on your journey.

As you've said, speaking to others who have had cancer or been in similar situations really does help and [@river56]‍, [@tosyn]‍, [@Susan123]‍, [@Copp1972]‍ and [@Calli]‍ are just some of the members that have been diagnosed with womb cancer and hopefully they'll pop by when they can for a chat now I've mentioned them in this post.

Do keep chatting to us here on the forum Elderberry as our community are very friendly and supportive who will do what they can to help.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi

just seen your post so sorry about a late reply.

I don't think you ever get over this but like all these things they fade and you learn to live with it.

I think of myself as being one of the lucky ones and that my life is for living . Everything in our life changes us some things more than others so you have to accept this.

yes I still remember the shock of being told but I got through it and it is just a memory it can't hurt me but it can help me be more understanding.

We are cancer survivors we are amazing.
