Stage 2 invasive breast cancer

Hi, had my very first mammogram on the 2nd May. Recalled about a week later, had biopsy and further mammogram as a lump was detected. Results as title a week later. Booked in for lumpectomy on the 20th June.

its all happened so fast (thank God) and its hard to take in.

Radiotherapy will follow my surgery about 5 weeks after and I've been assured that I am 100% curable but I’m so bloody scared!

Ive been reading some of the posts on here and its comforting to read the happy outcomes.

I'm 51.

  • Hiya. I'm stage 1b invasive and just about to start radiotherapy next week after lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node removal in April. I'm 48 and had visions on a few dark days that I wouldnt see my youngest grow up. It does feel very scary but you do settle into the routine of treatments etc. Don't get me wrong it's not easy but it is doable. Theres lots of support on here from other bc ladies who are amazing. If you pop onto the tbread the good and the bad to introduce ypurself im sure you will be welcomed by all x
