hello, we're still surviving

Hi, I'm sandra.Age 54. Diagnosed 2 years, 3 months ago. I have melanoma stage 4b. I've had my thumb amputated( first diagnosed there). I've had my lymph nodes( all) and axillary removal(armpit). Then I had the top of my right lung removed. In between I've had MRSA twice, cancer treatment caused hepatitis grade 4. Latest is I had sepsis 6 weeks ago.I now have 11 tumours. What I'd like to say is...I never gave up...I always told myself I wasn't going to die of cancer...I've fought and laughed and joked my way through this. (  I've had all the treatment,..immunosuppressant treatment, radiotherapy, antibiotics, chemo tablets, massive steroid doses, 3 major surgeries, at one point I was taking 47 tablets a day). Now I'm on a new chemotherapy. ( decarbazine)

And there's been a reaction ...all the tumours I can see are shrinking....massively. They are all at least a third of the size they were, and I've only had 2 rounds. So there you have it. I was told I had 6 months to live  in January. So don't give up....never give up.

  • I noticed you haven't had a reply yet chattysandie so I just wanted to stop by and give you a warm welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your story with us.

It's truly inspiring and I'm so glad to see that your new chemo is working wonders on shrinking your tumours. Fingers crossed this continues and I look forward to reading more of your updates soon.
