hi .i,m sixty  year old , guy.  the cancer was diagnosed i 1977 . i had blood tests and xrays.  the doctor did not tell me where  the cancer was.  i do not trust doctors any more.  as   as they never reply to my questions..   he even , told me to take them to court.  its farscical     .  i spent two years bleeding from the back end. and in plenty of pain.   and still the doctors would not do anything.........i  dont where to turn or who to ask  .   i am unable to send photo evidence  , as i do not know how to do this.. in 1977  my doctor told, that i was a prime cancidate.   maybe he meant, guinie pig......  in 1996  a locum doctor told me  i had bone metatasties.   when i ask my doctor, what this meant.  again the same reply.  did not answer me  ..                                                                                          i have even paid paid bupa and a bowel specialist , the bowel doctor found a lump in my siggy,  but he told me that there was nothing wrong.. 4 years later i found the report by accident...i asked my doctor again ...  ,  but this got me nowhere,   maybe  the monies that i have paid them ,  helps them get a bigger bmw.  car.    .

I’m sorry to read what’s been going on. I’m afraid that nobody on our forum is going to be able to fill in the gaps and explain about your past medical care or arrange any treatment. So unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to be able to say much that will help.

I know you said that you do not trust doctors, but the only suggestion I have is to speak to your GP about your medical history. As well as their records, they should have been sent reports from the hospital, so hopefully they can explain things.

I think this really is the only way to find out what’s going on. It may be worth taking someone along with you (if you don’t mind). This could be a family member or friend. If you don’t want someone you know to go along, you can see about getting an independent advocate who has no connection to you or the NHS. NHS Choices explains what they do on their website. The advantages of having someone with you are that they can support you during the appointment which can be stressful. They can ask questions to help you understand your situation. They can help you to remember what was said or write things down.

Medical care is complex and doctors often use jargon. So many people find it difficult to remember everything they are told and in some situations, it is all too easy to misunderstand something. A second pair of ears can help.

If you don’t want someone to come along then ask the doctor to write down what you have been diagnosed with. Do be honest with them if you can’t read their writing so they can make it clear for you. If in the appointment there is something you do not understand, then you need to be honest and ask them to explain what they mean.

I hope you don’t mind me making a suggestion, but I wonder if it would help if I gave you some questions to ask your doctor.
