Just wanted to say hello to everyone and tell you how much I empathise with all of you. I can't respond to all the posts I've read and I can't offer advice or help as this is all new to me too, but I have read many of your stories.
I'm in my 50s and have very lumpy breasts that make examination difficult to say the least (everyone that examins me comments on how hard it is to tell!) I've had one all clear trip to the breast clinic before for a cyst and yesterday confirmed many more of those, but I was actually there for another lump. Although mammograms appeared clear, the ultrasound was less definite. I basically have an irregular edged lump that does have a blood supply. They were super at explaining everything at my appointment and showed me the difference between other parts of my lumpy breasts and the one they then performed the biopsy on - basically like looking at an even, regular mole versus an irregular one. It took some time for them to decide that they definitely would biopsy and I'm holding on to that fact as it obviously didn't scream cancer, but can't avoid the concern, as I'm sure everyone here understands ;) They couldn't see any swelling in lymph nodes, which is positive point number 2!
So, trying to stay positive and busy until 25th and thinking of you all.
Helen
