Hi everyone. My name is Gina.

I. Am currently having chemotherapy for the second time. I am struggling at the moment and don't feel that I can continue with the treatment

I know there is so many people  going through the same and worse. I feel so alone and isolated. Xxx

thank you for reading mypost.  Xxxxxx

  • Hello Gina, so sorry to read how bad you are feeling.   I have had three lots of 6 chemos, the first for breast ca 20 years ago, after which I swore 'never again', but of course when I contracted ovarian 5 years ago I changed my mind and have had two more ops with subsequent chemo treatments.  Let me tell you, each time I felt I could not continue after a couple of rounds, I felt so ill, but I persevered because I didn't fancy the other option!  Please keep going, you will be glad you did when it's all over.

    God bless, chin up.

  • Thank you so much Hazel. I think we all feel on our own sometimes but t it's good to hear from others who are going through something similar.

How are you doing now. Xxxxxxx

  • Hello Gina, thanks for your reply.  Please don't ever think you are alone, everyone on this forum knows how you are feeling, and whenever you feel like letting it all out this is the place to come!

I am currently in remission (fingers crossed!), my last chemo was March 2016 but it took a while for the effects to wear off  - sore skin, nausea, tiredness etc.  Luckily no hair loss that time, though I still have my wig just in case!  I am okay at the moment, thanks, but of course every ache, pain or twinge sparks a bit of concern, and always will.  Just have to try and put it to the back of your mind and get on with life while the going's good!

Let me know how you get on and if you want to talk after your next chemo, if you feel that death might be better (I did at times) I'm here to listen. But please do keep on with the treatment, darling.

    Hazel xx

  • Dear Gina

I am sorry to hear you are struggling but you beat it once, you can do it again.

i have a huge favour to ask....I am facing my first ever treatment. Would you be kind enough to talk me through?

Where the needle goes, does it stay in or removed each time? Is there bruising? Did you feel like a pin cushion? I feel like one already! How long do you sit for? Is the room less clinical than most hospital rooms? Can you eat/drink during?

Sorry to bombard you, just feeling overwhelmed and any information of what will happen is appreciated.

    Thanks.
