Newbie to the chat ...

Looking at "Connerys post" ... firstly, sorry that it has happened to you so young ... Im a 60 year old English guy living in Spain. Diagnosed a year ago with pristate cancer, that has metastasised to base of spine and pelvis .. in general feeling ok, but found it interesting that you said it seemed to worry your loved ones more than you.

Have often wondered over the years how I would react to getting this sort of news ... when I did, .. it just seemed too surreal, and have to keep reminding myself I have it. Not too sure what else to say, except, anyone that has cancer, whichever type it may be, I wish you all the strength to deal with it, and the will to stay positive x

  • Hi,

I have to admit, when over six years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I also found my family were more concerned about it than I was. I think its because you having the disease, feel to some degre you have some control where as a family member doesnt feel that at all. For instance, how I felt was up to me and as I have always been a positive sort, that helpedme enormously.

I have now lost ten family members to cancer and I found it so hard knowing there was nothing I could do to help them apart from being there for them.

I wish you well with your treatment and hipe you get good results, Brian
