Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself after signing up to your forum. My name is Penny and I live with my husband of 28 years, three of my four children (all girls), and my grandson Eoin - now 6 years old ! my other daughter and my grandaughter live just up the road so we are all close, thank goodness .
I was diagnosed with stage 3a invasive breast cancer about 6 to 8 months after losing my dad in 2011. I completed treatment towards end of 2012 and returned to work.
A few years later I had been suffering for a while with a progressive and annoying malaise . Nothing I could put my finger on and with no specific areas of complaint. we took the family out for the day on my Grandaughter's birthday and I just couldn't carry on. so i slept in the car and my husband took me to the drs the next day.
After two weeks in hospital they found the metastases on my liver.
It has been a downward spiral since then, still struggling to find a chemo or treatment to slow down the progression . it is now also in my bones and my lungs, and I am now trying out on Eribulin (second cycle with progression CT planned for just after the third cycle).
Having a bit of a wobbly day mentally today - contemplating going back to work on Monday after a fortnight off trying to regain some energy.
Hope this finds most of us in a good and positive state of mind this Remembrance weekend,
Penny xXx
