Fighting back!

My husband has just been diagnosed with kidney cancer which has spread to his lymph nodes & lungs.  A month ago we were in blissful ignorance - in a week's time he is having surgery to remove his kidney.  It's early days for us and we don't know much about the extent of the cancer, but we're determined to fight back in every way we can.

Right now, we have a million things going on around us - organising work (we run our own businesses) and a house full of workmen & decorators. For now, we've decided to focus our energies on things we can influence to improve our lives and try not to dwell on things we can't influence. I'm sure it's going to be a bumpy ride and I was so pleased to see a sponsored post about this forum pop up on my Facebook page.

  • Hi Aunt Effie

We have talked before and we are on the same journey. Like you are not sure where we are. Operation to remove kidney hopefully scheduled for end October. Not sure re secondary in hip yet

like you we are strictly business as usual and have pulled myself back together. My husband is incredible and just refuses to worry until we know what we are dealing with.

hopefully we will be able to post some positives along the way
