Neuroendocrine cancer

i am a new member and have started treatment for the Above cancer.  Does anyone have any tips or guidelines how to deal with this type of cancer

  • Hi Groany, My husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic neuro endocrine cancer in December. His tumour is inoperable and he is currently having the monthly injections, so far he is responding well. My husbands way of dealing with this is to try and carry on as normal, he is still working and we are trying to fit in as many holidays/ outings as we can. His tumour was discovered after emergency surgery for another problem, that consultants advice was .... Do exactly what the oncologist tells you! We have ups and downs ( which is to be expected ) but we make plans and look forward, things could be so much worse. Good luck with your treatment.
  • My husband was diagnosed with neuro endocrine pancreatic cancer in 2015 and this had spread to the liver, a lymph node and bone. He has had 6 radionuclide treatments and now has monthly injections. He feels well and is still working as I am. We were hoping to retire in the next few years and make plans for our retirement. I find the uncertainty of the future very hard to cope with and it is difficult when friends ask how you are and you feel you have to be positive- people seem to think we have nothing to worry about as he looks so well. I feel tearful and down much of the time and not sure how I will cope with the years ahead. I feel a little guilty typing this  as I know others are probably in worse situations but I would be glad of any tips or advice about how to cope day to day.
