Small Cell Lung Cancer

Hi,

I would like to connect with anyone suffering from Small Cell Lung Cancer, as my father is currently undergoing chemo for this and would be great to speak with anyone who is in the same position, considering new and alternative therapies in particular, immunotherapies and seeing if we can help each other along in the journey.

Based in Hertfordshire and he is getting Carboplatin and Etoposide (round 4 just done)

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks and love from
SCLCMiracle!

  • Hi SCLC

How has your dad been getting on with the chemo? My mum has been recently diagnosed and starts a week today on the carboplatin and etoposide.

How are you dealing with it?

  • Hi my young husband Daryl has lung cancer - stage 4 as it has spread and he is starting on chemo with I think the same drugs on the 5th October. I am sorry to hear you are going through this with your father- and I wish you all strength – it would be very interesting to know how your dear father has responded to the chemo? I am scared as I imagine the worse but at present that is all I can imagine. I am in Bristol – and would like to hear your experiences and share mine- and link with anyone else going through this difficult time. Take care love Tracey x

  • Hi. My mam was diagnosed with sclc stage 4 about 5 weeks ago. She has had one round of chemo (same drugs) and it's really helped reduce a massive lump on her neck. She has copd so only got the chemo intravenously and not the additional 2 days worth of tablets. Second round of chemo is next Wednesday and hopefully she 'll get the tablets as well this time. Happy to chat to all. Luv Tracy

  • Hi - sorry to hear about your dad! And hello all - sorry to hear about all of your stories. I was wondering how everyone is doing?  My dad was diagnosed with extensive small cell lung cancer 6 months ago which had spread to his brain. His had the brain tumor removed luckily and has just finished his 8 rounds of chemo and is doing unbelievable..a true fighter. The lung tumor has reduced by 50%.. His having radiotherapy on his brain as of tomorrow as a precaution.  How is your dad ?

  • Hello Alll

Wondering how you are all doing and if anyone got anywhere with immunotherapy for SCLC?

My mum was diagnosed extensive in March and she has done 3 rounds of carbo/etop chemo and then stopped as although was effective it made her so very sick. Now her lung is filling with fluid, terrible pain in back (she has it in her spine too) and liver test (there too) were not good.

Got the option of some palliative radiotherapy on the spine to help with pain and been told can have second line chemo although chances are it won't be effective and could make her very ill again.

Hoping there's something else out there???
