Hi,
My name is Emily and i'm 15 years old. I'm new to the forum as I have been fortunate enough to never encounter the horrors of cancer before, until now.
My nan has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is at such an advanced stage, we could lose her at any point. Nan had been ill over Christmas, (with pains in her stomach and lower abdomen) and had been to the doctors several times and has had tests and scans done too. The doctors said that it was a growth in her womb and that it was fortunately not cancerous. This was a relief to our family as it only needed to be taken out, however that was not the case. The doctors could find no cancer in the womb because it hadn't reached there yet. Sadly, the cancer apperead to have started in the lungs and worked it's way down into the stomach and keeps spreading downwards, that is when we found that there was no chance of nan surviving. The news came as such a shock to us as we thought it was something treatable, i'm so close to my nan and don't want to lose her especially since I recently lost my dad to an unexpected heart attack. Some may say that i'm so young to be dealing with this type of thing but i just feel so sorry for my brother who his only 9. I was hoping you'd share some tips on coping and how to stay positive.
Thank You x
