Hello Kete 1,
So sorry to hear about your mum. If you give us more details, eg, what type of cancer and what treatment Mum is having, I'm sure there will be lots of people on here willing to help and advise from their own experience.
Meantime, wishing you both all the best, stay strong.

Thankyou so much, it started as endometrial cancer stage 1b, she had a hysterectomy, this was in March, they removed some lymph nodes in her groin and when we went back to see the consultant 3 weeks after that operation he informed us it had spread to them also, so she was looking at around 3-4 months of treatment. While we were there she mentioned she was having some discomfort whilst sitting down, he gave her an internal examination and ended up taking a biopsy from an inch big tumour he found. We found out a day later that too was cancer. So from there on she has had 6 sessions of chemotherapy 3 weeks apart and 7 weeks radiotherapy
And we thought we were finished but a CT scan has revealed it has spread to the lymph nodes in her chest, stomach, groin and neck. They have said they can't cure her and she only has months left with us, I guess I'm just hoping someone on here can tell me that's not true and how to help her x
Kate, I am SO sorry, what a bombshell for you both, but please don't give up. There are quite a few others on here who have had a similar prognosis but they are still here several years down the line. I myself have recurrent ovarian cancer, and after a second op am currently having my second round of 6 chemos after 3 years' remission, so my situation is not quite the same as your mum's, but if you use the 'search' option on the blue strip at the top of the page and type in 'endometrial cancer' I'm sure you will find some lovely ladies to offer comfort and advice.
God bless.
