Introducing myself

Hi I am Sian and I have just visited this site tonight.  I have had a lobescopy - half a lung removed due to cancer.  That was a year ago. NHS was FAB - diagnosed and operated on within 2 weeks.  No radio or chemo as was stage 1.  Still feel vulnerable and into hospital on Thursday as I suspect I will need to be brave again!  Life is a challenge at times and I know that actually I have had it 'easy' to date -but fear has no boundaries/logic.  I send all of you out there a huge hug as it is so heartbreaking when the day arrives and there is no energy in self and the sky looks grey/black and the fog descends.  Here is to rays of sunshine for us all.  Sian

  • Hi, Sian, good to hear from you, please let us all know how your hospital visit went, results, etc.

No, it doesn't sound daft, just hope you got some comfort from everyone's replies - there's loads of empathy and love and support on here, and we all need that when those dark clouds threaten - no need to feel alone.  There IS a lot of pain, some physical but a lot emotional, but this forum certainly helps.  If you need some light relief and to be reassured that there is still some enjoyment to be had despite everything, please check out the inspiration threads!

    God bless, Hazel x
