Kidney cancer-dialysis

Hi,I was first diagnosed in 2000 and had left kidney removed. With a follow up scan in 2008 it was back in my right kidney-a clever surgeon removed tumour and left me with enough functioning kidney for normal life. Now it is back again but inoperable and with mets. I have been on a clinical trial for past 8 months and my quality of life has been really good but now due to tumour causing bleeding from kidney we are facing kidney removal and dialysis. I am really scared about how life will be on dialysis-can anyone help?

  • Hi there Vicki, welcome to the forum but sorry for the reason you are here. I don't know anything about kidney cancer, but thought I would respond to your post as I see no one has replied as yet. With my response, your initial post will be bumped to the first page so hopefully, someone will see it who can relate to your situation. Another thing that you could do is post in the category, "Ask the nurses" and perhaps they can shed some light on this for you. They are also available by phone at the number at the bottom of this page during regular business hours.

Good luck with the challenges you face and I hope you receive a response soon.

    Take care
