Surely I shall learn to find my way around but at least you now know I am here and very human ready to speak to you as I meet and get to know you.

I hope you have enjoyed a pleasant Whit weekend.............nearing June and hopefully lots of warm, uplifting sunshine to cheer us all.

  • Hi, I have just read your introduction.  Wow, you are an amazing woman, what a lot you have done whilst coping with your own serious health problems.  I do hope that you are getting all the help you so deserve now you need it.

Welcome to this forum.  With my best wishes.

  • Hello Threejays,

Pauline4 is right - looking at your 'About Me' you have done some pretty amazing things. Perhaps you could tell us more by replying  to this thread and others will then know what you have done and all you have achieved. Your experience I am sure will be very inspirational. You see, some people may not see what you have written in your 'About Me', so we would love to hear more about you. Share your story here, don't be shy!

I would also suggest you change the title of your thread to something more specific so that it is easily spotted by someone else in a similar situation in the forum. We have some tips on how to label your posts on the forum here

I will now let your future forum friends chat to you but don't hesitate if you have any questions about anything. We do have a dedicated section to help you find your way around the forum here.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • WOW......what an amazing woman you are...

  • Thank you all for your welcoming replies,it is very heartening to hear that perhaps, in the course of time my past "expertise" and my own too many brushes and recoveries from cancer will prove helpful, even inspirational.

Believe me, it was a very long and difficult route to follow since my first emergency visit to the local Hospital with lights flashing and bell ringing.

I had been found unconscious on our bathroom floor one morning lying in a pool of blood.........that was in 1984.

I required 8 pints of blood in the course of the next few days .............then operation seemingly after operation were to follow...........and my cancer story had begun.

My previous nurse training had left me unprepared for all that has followed.

I understand you wish to hear my story............................... perhaps in greater detail Mod Lucie ......and if it helps I am quite happy too, but am at a loss as to exactly where I should give it ............that is why I gave a brief account in my profile................. so that you might understand my position.

Perhaps you could further advice me as to what I should next do!!!!....................I warn you it could be extremely lengthy!!!

  • Hello Threejays,

Just wanted to say thank you for telling us a bit more about you - just tell us as much as you want to really or feel comfortable sharing, whatever you feel could be of value to other people here who have been diagnosed with cancer. You are doing brilliantly actually and I love your avatar. Is that your doggy? He looks very elegant.

You seem to be finding your way around the forum very well so I am not sure I can give you much more advice. I noticed you responded to Meerkat and that's exactly what I would encourage you to do - keep responding to the threads you want to engage with! And keep telling us more about your story if you wish on your thread too.

Don't hesitate though if you have any question. As Meerkat said in her thread, I don't think you will be a newbie for very long :p

  • Hello lucie;

Still waddling around trying to find my feet but have decided it is best I read up on the various aspects and stories here.

Will then, hopefully, find my corner to where I am best suited.

Delighted with the warm welcome and yes nice to make a start by approaching a familiar avatar first and foremost.

Sadly that is not my dog but dachshunds are very dear to my heart, as we lost our darling a little while ago after 16 whole years of such outstanding companionship.

I will put his picture in when I settle down but thought any avatar is better than a cold blank space.

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards.
