diagnosed with bowel cancer following routine two yearly test in January.

Scared scared scared
And now an update
Well that's my first chemotherapy session underway. We were at the hospital for over five hours while I had my first treatment injected into me over two and a half hours. Weird is about the best word that I can use to describe the sensation. I start on the oral regime tomorrow for two weeks before having a week off then start all over again. Tonight when I came home I came straight to bed as I am feeling really washed out. My arm is very uncomfortable. Kinda like pins and needles all the time. I washed my hands and it's a wonder that you didn't hear me scream.....the water felt like icy needles on my hands.....need to get used to this sensitivity. I've got all my appointment dates and assuming nothing prevents me having any treatment...I should be finished mid October. Right now that seems a long way off but it's still better than the alternative.
That's you up to date for today's proceedings. Hard work begins tomorrow
Onwards and upwards.

Hi
I'm now on my 2nd of 8 cycles of treatment. On Monday I had 4 reactions to the Oxaliplatin. I suffered two laryngeal spasms and a mouth spasm. I then came out in red dots all over arms legs body. Had to have everything checked and all a bit of a mystery and everything has subsided now. Anyone else had any of this?
