It sure is a shock to find out you have cancer .
Absolutely ! But once you get over that initial shock you'll find the only option is to stay positive and fight it! It is very curable as they keep telling me! Good luck!
It really does knock you for Six. I had a lumpectomy yesterday and I know I'll be fine. Just radiotherapy to go in a few weeks. Just try to stay positive. You will be fine xx
This time last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer lymph node cancer, I had a masectomy and node clearance followed by chemo and radiotherapy ...... February I started back to work on a phased return, I think I got through last year being positive and staying as healthy as I could, I had huge support from my Husband which helped me stay positive, I also keep a journal so he can read about my day so I don't have to relive it, hope all goes well for everyone x x x x
Thank you for your question, I found the radiotherapy ok for the first 4 weeks, only during the 5th week did my skin really "burn up" was uncomfortable to have anything too close fitting, felt like I had dipped my boob in the deep fat fryer!! I was given hydration gel and diprovate cream which really helped. I worked every day and had my appointments late in the afternoon, fatigue only hit me about a month after my last treatment, I took a couple of weeks off and was ok to continue with part time hours until I was fit enough to return full time. Wishing you all the best for your treatment, please keep me posted on your progress xxx Shirley
