Hi Kerrie,
Not even going to ask how you are muddling along. Just wanted you to know you are not alone honey, your mates are thinking of you,
Love Kathy. X
Hi Kathy, I am doing ok thanks, funeral was lovely, I managed my reading well. I think my brothers are feeling it worse than me to be honest. For me as the carer I feel at peace as she is too. My nights of lying awake worrying are over, my anxiety has lessened too. I am returning to work on Tuesday , I am having a phased return so just a few hours per day increasing each week over a four week period. My colleagues had a collection in work for me and have bought me a lot of decorative bits for the garden, I will be busy smartening it up for summer. Mums flat is almost cleared just the big items this weekend going to a young man coping with divorce. I received mums ashes yesterday, I am keeping her for 12 months to help with all the birthdays and anniversaries and of course my first Mother's Day next year with out her. I will then do the internment on the first anniversary of her death. I have great support from you guys on here and at work and am so grateful.....how are you Kathy ? Well I hope xxxxxxxx thanks for thinking of me you have no idea how much it touches my heart. Xxx big hugs xxxx
Hi Kerrie,
I am doing ok , thanks for asking.
Great to hear your workmates are supportive and you know the folk here are blooming wonderful too. I so wished I had found this site when we were going through the journey but was only afterwards I discovered it, but hey ho that's life. The support I have had over the past 6 months has been great.
Good to know some of mums stuff will benefit someone else requiring a hand. She would be so proud and will be smiling down on you.
Have decided to attend memorial svc for all palliative care loved ones lost Oct 2014 - March 2015 will have family around me and a few friends. We will remember the good times, smile and be happy we knew them.
All the best Kerrie,
Hugs Kathy xxx
Hi Kathy, so good to hear you are doing well. I have been back at work for 3 weeks , have taken this week off to use up my remaining holidays. It's been ok you know, I am a customer service advisor dealing in faulty goods, so my customers are not happy before they call. These calls can be heated at times but I have coped well. I have been doing my garden since just before mum passed away, it's almost finished and looks wonderful, bright and fresh. Trees had smothered it almost so had them cut right back. I do miss my mum.....I feel lost for words at times....I would love a snuggle off her, God rest her precious soul. I am glad I am at the age i am, I have wonderful memories to keep me going. Hope the memorial went well too, what a wonderful idea that is. Speak soon love always Kerrie. Xxxxxxxxx
Hi Kerrie,
Saw your name on Jules thread so thought I'd say G'day. How is your garden going? Cold here, snowed last week but didn't lie. 6 weeks till spring woo hoo.
While preparing the veggie plot last week I discovered a "volunteer" tomato plant and have another one (cherry) in a pot which has survived the weather and has little tomatoes on it. I will transplant it in Sept and hope the dog remembers to keep off the plot.
Had the kidlets for 4 days so now need to recharge my batteries. Grandson has managed to pull out curtain rod from the wall when playing hide and seek so will get a handyman in to assess and repair. Not 100% his fault as the curtains are too long but they have only been like that for 30 years, no rush to alter haha. Haven't told son so may see if he can do on next visit but reckon a handyman would be quicker in the long run. I have a mate doing repair work but when it's a friend you can't really stipulate timeframes.
I hope your work is going well honey,
Sending hugs
Kathy xx
Hi Kathy.....good day to you to my lovely.....the garden is lovely thanks, it's a beautiful evening here too. I am not a green fingered person but have transformed the garden this year. I see the kids are keeping you on your toes, but accidents happen don't they.....I would go with the handyman haha.....I am off on holiday with my brothers, their wives, my mums brother and sister in law and my wonderful daughter on sept 18th to Benidorm, never been before, and I simply cannot wait. Been working overtime to try and pay for it, so been exhausted recently. Lovely to hear from you take good care and thanks for the message xxxxkerrie
Hi Kerrie
Lovely to see your response to Kathy and just wanted to pop in and say enjoy that very well deserved holiday. Your have definitely earned it. I too have booked a break (for me, kids and grandsons) but have to be a little more patient - its for August 2016!!!! Also, like you, have been spending time in the garden and made myself a little 'cottage corner' - a new project to focus on - and though its all a bit trial and error I have had colour outside my patio doors all Summer - two pots of lavendar are giving lovely perfume just now. Take care and hope you pop back and share your holiday news on your return. Jules x
