My wife was recently diaognised with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) after she underwent a surgery for excision of an aggressive sebaceous Cyst at the back of her skull on the scalp.
The biopsy of the cyst (which was large in size which had grown in a samall benign form over last ten to twelve years) reveleade it to be EHE. The excision was done in late May 2014 and somewhere around July 2014 metastates had occured and it has spread lung, vertebra and femur areas and back of skull around the area of excision of tumor. PET scan performed recently revealed metastates. She is now under going raidation therapy for the bones (L@ Lumbar and femur).
Oncologist attending to her has advised completion of Radiation Therapy before starting the Chemo. We are not sure what drugs will be used for this treatment as it appears no drug is used for specific treatment of EHE.
Would be obliged if anyone could through some light on the effective treatment for EHE and the drugs developed and prescribed currently to treat such cases where metastates has occured.
