Hello

Hi, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic renal cancer in Aug 2023. The cancer spread to my bones and lungs. I've had two bone replacement surgeries in my right arm and leg. Chemo or radiation wasn't an option. I had Immunotherapy which didn't work and left me with an under active thyroid and nerve damage. I was then put on Cabazantinib which so far is keeping me stable. I use humour to keep me going and have a great supportive team of friends and family. Except for the scars and requiring a walking aid you wouldn't know I was ill. Infact one of my friends said to me yesterday. Why don't we start playing golf. I replied, that will be fun with a dodgy arm and unstable legs. I think you sometimes forget. She replied I do but isn't that a god thing?

Beside my disabilities I'm living a good life. Side effects from the meds are not great but manageable. My most vulnerable times are when I hear of someone losing their battle. I recently lost a frid who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. I remember her messaging me to say how terrified she was. I told her it would be a rough ride but as they caught it early she had a great  chance of recovery. Well if wasn't to be and she passed away a few days ago. . Anyway just thought I'd share my journey with you, any questions feel free to ask. Just remember, don't be so afraid of dying that you forget to live x
