Hello. Facing this beggar for the 4th time. Previously I've had breast cancer, ureter cancer, bladder cancer. Now after 18 years I have DCC in the lymph nodes near my clavicle. It's was discovered while I was having my 10 year bladder follow up scan. I have no symptoms whatsoever, so I would maybe never have noticed it til it was well established.
I have my first oncologist appointment on 7th September. My daughters are adults now ( they were children when I had my original BC), but it still breaks my heart to put them through this for the 4 th time!!
I keep good health, I walk a lot, I watch my diet ( I have a stoma, 2024, which will make medication more difficult) .
I'm trying not to think of stage4 as a death sentence. I know it's not. Lots of people live with stage 4 diagnosis. I'm almost 70, but I would say I'm a young 70. Too young to be leaving yet. I'd like to make it to 80, but who knows. My youngest has just turned 30. She's autistic and still at home with me. We're like an old married couple, we get on so well. I'm scared to leave her. My eldest is settled with a lovely partner, she lives not too far away.
Thanks for letting me rant on. I'm thinking too far ahead, whilst trying to stay in the moment. You'd think I'd be good at this by now.
Take care everyone. Have a peaceful Sunday
