All CLog’d out…

CLog (part 12)

All CLog’d out for now….

I think I’ll hang up my CLogs for now… I’ll be forever grateful to all that have taken time out to feedback and support me on my journey, and I really do hope that I’ve helped at least one person to think about how to deal with their own problems, if I have, then my CLogs have been worthwhile.

It’s been life changing and I’m not yet sure how that will play out, it’s still early days and until I get the absolute all clear later this year, then I suppose that’s where I am for now.

I’m now 5 weeks into my rebuild, my treatment finished 7 weeks today. I’m working again, exercising whenever I’m able, we’ve booked a holiday to Lake Garda in September which we soooo need and so alls relatively positive.

Still sore, still not eating properly and desperate to have my Peg removed, but all of that will sort itself.

I’ll likely CLog one last time when I get the all clear!

To everyone out there, thank you again… listen to your body, don’t bury your heads and talk to somebody about your concerns.

Again the pic has no relevance, just me on one of my adventures, this one was Mont Blanc.

  • Hi Mike  good luck with your road to recovery.  Your Clogs have certainly helped me so thank you.  Enjoy your first meal.

  • Hi Mike I am doing well.  Just got back from holiday in Portugal yesterday, It was lovely, great beaches.  Waiting for a phone call from the hospital to tell me when a chair is free for my treatment today.  How are you doing, have you had your first meal yet? x

  • Hey… glad you’ve had a great holiday, we go next Monday, to Lake Garda.

I’m eating, but only small portions and nothing to dry as anything dry is difficult to swallow, but I’m getting there.

I hope you get to the hospital today and I hope the treatment is going well.

Take care, good to hear from you…

  • Hi Mike thank you for asking, still all stable.  Had scan yesterday and see oncologist on 16 November so fingers crossed still stable.  How was Lake Garda, I have never been but it looks lovely from the pictures.  Are you managing to eat bigger meals now?  Do you work?  I worked for the DWP for nearly 22 years but had to take medical retirement earlier than I wanted.  Now I don't know how I would have time to work ha ha.  Mind you I am still in bed being lazy.

  • Hey… fingers crossed for the 16th… it’s the waiting that can be difficult, I don’t know if you feel the same?!?!

Lake Garda was stunning, it was such a relief to get away from the melee of the last few months.

My eating is improving all of the time, but there’s certain things I avoid, bread for instance, and I’m not drinking alcohol. I do work, just 3 days per week, consulting for 2 different businesses.

I had an interview recently to be a CRUK storyteller, we’ll see what happens with that, still awaiting feedback.

Good to keep in touch Lee, I’ll be thinking about you on the 16th and praying too.

    You take care…

    Mike

  • Hi Mike, sorry I got mixed up it is 18.  I am so glad you enjoyed Lake Garda.  What do you do when you are a CRUK storyteller, I mean do you go around to venues and share your experience or is it online?  I took early medical retirement and miss my friends at work but not the job.  I worked for DWP for nearly 22 years in the jobcentre, it was stressful.  Hope you continue with getting stronger every day.
