I took Tamoxifen for 1 year before changing to Letrozole for 6½ years. I am now 16 years post diagnosis and still live a busy and fulfilling life. I hope that your treatment goes well.
Thankyou for the reply. I have a flight booked before my cancer diagnosis and waiting radiotherapy appointment but unsure as was told tamoxifen can cause blood clots if I should fly. Have you flown while on this drug ? How was your experience on tamioxfen and letrozole.
I'm just about coming to the end of ten years on Tamoxifen, there were side effects but nothing so horrendous I ever considered stopping taking the drug. Hope this is your experience with it too.
Yes, I have flown a number of times while taking both of these drugs with no problem. Yes, Tamoxifen can cause blood clots, but it doesn't do this with everybody. How long is your flight? Wear compression socks for the flight and walk up and down the aisle a few times to keep the circulation flowing. Unfortunately, I did have some side-effects, but the fact that I'm still here 16 years after 2 bouts of cancer is testament to the fact that they work.
