Had core biopsy last Monday for speculated mass in breast .. been told highly likely it’s malignant .. waiting for results of biopsy.. can I ask how long have others had t wait ? Could it really be 3 weeks to find out?
Waiting times can vary from one clinic to another, depending on how busy they are. Most people get them within 1 or 2 weeks, but it's not unusual to have to wait for 3 weeks.
I am sorry to hear that they think that this could be breast cancer - how are you coping with this? I have had a couple of bouts of cancer and 1 of pre-cancer. On 3 occasions I was told by my consultant that he was pretty sure that it was cancer. He was right on 2 occasions, but wrong on the third. I am sure that this is an anxious time for you and I hope that you have some good support around you. Treatment can be challenging, but it's "doable" and I'm still living a busy and fulfilling life 16 years after diagnosis.

Most of us would agree that it's the "unknown" that is so difficult to deal with. Irrespective of the outcome, we all feel better once we know the results. Our over active imaginations also tend to take us to all sorts of dark places, which doesn't help.
