Hello - in denial here?

I was diagnosed with grade 1, stage 2 breast cancer a few weeks ago. I knew it was going to be the case from the biopsy before. I feel like I’m in denial because the prognosis is so good, and that maybe I should be more worried. Im not massively upset, my son is okay and I’m calm with my family. Am I being complacent?

  • Heya.

It is nice to meet you in order to begin with here. Welcome to the forums. Everyone copes with a primary cancer diagnosis in their own unique way. For me joining an online support network, reading information booklets and taking part in a research trial in addition helped me. Best wishes. Also a few of the other things that helped were  classic puzzles, games or arts and crafts. Find out what the hospital offers.

You can do this. Later on one day halfway through my chemo I found out about the Bone Cancer Research Trust and became involved with them. Ask about research trials. I even curated an art exhibition during one week too. That was fun. We are all here for you. Ask to be involved with two or three cancer charities that are relevant as well. Keep us updated.
