I was supposed to start my 1st 3 lots of chemotherapy last Monday at my local hospital here in Bedfordshire, but because my GP surgery pharmacist took me off the Metformin that I had had great results on before (2 tablets 2X a day) it has apparently messed up my diabetes readings so when I was due to start my 1st chemo I was told I could not start the treatment because my sugar levels were now far to high what with the steroids I had just started taking. You would have thought the hospital staff would have come across with this problem before now but no it seems not. Well I am now due to start again this Monday and let's hope all my levels this time are in range because I don't think I can cope with all the stress like last week all over again. Surely the medical specialists would realise just how stressed up I was last week, if it all goes badly again this Monday I will be pulling my hair out and not simply waiting for it to fall out.
Anybody out there having similar 1st day chemotherapy problems. Wish me luck !!!!!!!!!!
