Terrified of a normal result!

Hi. I recently had a Colonoscopy. Some blood in stools and very bad bowel movements. Diet is rubbish!!

After Colonoscopy they gave me a report of 4 polyps found (not huge) and said I had start of diverticulitis (score 0).. They told me everything was OK and would send polyps away to the lab. 2 weeks later I got an URGENT appointment for a CT scan (abdomen and pelvis).

I am not losing weight (if anything gaining) but very extended belly put down to weight. Recent bilateral open hernia surgery.

I am terrified as I have SOME of the symptoms of cancer but they are conflicting. I am constantly tired but put that down to lack of sleep. I have Complex PTSD, stressed and depressed and constant nightmares..

Finally, I was adopted. My REAL mother did died of bowel cancer. I am not absolutely sure but my Grandad (who I am 99% sure was actually my REAL father) also died of bowel cancer.

I am just praying that they are suspecting something but the result will be negative.

Any suggestions would be very welcome. BTW CT scan is tomorrow (Thursday).

  •  I’m sure they would have told you if they had found cancer like they did with me so if you have not heard you probably need to ask them, I have stage 4 colon cancer , I first was told in May 24 when it was stage 3, I always ask many questions if I’m not sure, and believe me I’ve asked a lot.

But if they had found cancer I’m sure they would have told you by now, the biopsy would have shown it, it’s a very frustrating and anxious time, I know this isn’t much help but it’s been my experience, you probably won’t get the results of your CT scan for the next 10 days, I find those times really frustrating.

take care and I do hope it’s not cancer.

  • Good luck for tomorrow. Are your (adoptive) parents still alive?
