  • Hello Kerry86

I'm sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with a small bowel neuroendocrine cancer in December. It's understandable that you feel like your world has been turned upside down since the diagnosis.

You don't mention in your post if you have a date planned for the upcoming surgery. Hopefully, it's not too far away, but it's certainly worth giving your specialist cancer nurse a call to let them know about the new symptoms you've developed if you've not already done so. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance.

In the meantime, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our team of nurses, you're welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully, you can get some answers and reassurance soon Kerry86. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on - we're here for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Im due to have the op on the 15th of this month but i am so scared they are going to say it has spread i know it probably hasn't but im still scared xx

  • Hello Kerry86

I'm glad to hear that you have your surgery planned for next week. Not too long now, and you will have some answers.

It's understandable that you're feeling scared ahead of the surgery and I wish there was something I could say to take that feeling away. What I will say is that dwelling on your worries won't change the outcome next week, but it will leave you feeling worse over the next few days, so if you can, try to keep busy, keep yourself distracted and hopefully the next few days will pass by quickly.

If you want to talk with one of our nurses next week before your operation, they'll be back in the office 9am Monday morning on 0808 800 4040.

    Sending my best wishes,
