I was recently diagnosed with multi -focal pancreatic cancer NET;  non functional. I think that’s medical speak for tumours all over the pancreas;  at present they have not metastasised so they are stable.

Incredibly,  I was offered and strongly declined a total pancreatectomy ie removal of the entire pancreas. I have opted for quality of life rather than lengthy and debilitating old age. I am aged 78 and until this diagnosis have been slim, fit and active.

Current symptoms are mainly fatigue and bloating which are very unpleasant . I have not yet managed to adapt to  eating only small amounts of food several times a day. I think when I do manage this I feel better. The fatigue is much more difficult because it overwhelms me.  I have lost my interest in food;  I have always eaten healthy foods. I am not losing weight.

I have had five scans and an endoscopy. I sometimes take paracetamol.
