T3 squamous cell carcinoma diagnosis

I have recently (about 3 weeks ago) been diagnosed with T3 squamous cell carcinoma of the right vocal chord.

While it's quite scary I'm in good spirits and my sense of humour hasn't failed me. I probably make other people smile
because I sound like a squeaky mouse. I'm not going to let this cancer get me down as long as that is possible.

Lovely to be here and hopefully I won't annoy anyone with my cheerfulness.

  • Hello MikiMaus,

I am so sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with T3 squamous cell carcinoma of the right vocal chord. It's great you are keeping your great sense of humour despite your diagnosis. You did make me smile too when you said you sound like a squeaky mouse. You are definitely not annoying anyone with your cheerfulness and we completely stand by your side in not letting this cancer get you down for as long as possible and I hope that our online community will help you keep up the good spirits and the feeling that you are not alone on this journey, that others are by your side every step of the way on this forum.

I have found a couple of threads from members who have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma - for example  posted this thread about being diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of vocal cord and  posted this thread about being diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the throat - these are just a couple of examples and I hope that you will hear from others on here who have had a similar diagnosis in the past and that they will be happy to share their experiences with you.

I also wanted to let you know that we have a nurse helpline you can ring if you ever have any questions or simply wish to talk things through - feel free to call our cancer nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
