Hi,i was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year,the waiting is horrendous,after operation that was extensive  followed by 6 rounds of chemo im on the mend,stay strong,i was ringing every day to get my scan results,i do believe my persistance saved my life

So, yesterday morning my temperature went to the threshold level that I have to report to the hospital. They brought me in to check me over and I am now an inpatient for the weekend. My neutrophil level is 0.15 and they aren't taking any chances. I am on I.V antibiotics and all sorts of stuff. I wasn't expecting it but I understand these things are not out of the ordinary. 

I'm gutted I'm not home with my son on the weekend but nothing I can do unfortunately!

ive been through a similar situation whereby I was  called in for an infusion because of my kidney function..  this was last year, and did the trick

i was in for chemotherapy treatment Yesterday afternoon, all went smoothly and as always great attention from the oncology team, even putting me in a side room, enabling some sleep as I had not slept well the night before.

i now await any side  effects to develop , as they do usually. 
so onwards and upwards, I’m sure you are missing that time with your boy and husband.  But you will make up for it. 
take good care of yourself, try and rest as much as possible,

Thank you for the supportive messages. I am still in hospital but being looked after so well. I have no complaints. They are very thorough. I have had the luxury of a side room with en-suite as I am very vulnerable.

The good news is they injected my tummy yesterday with something to boost my neutrophil count and today I am back up over 1 so that is a relief for sure. I think they will keep me on the I.V antibiotics a bit longer then switch me to oral ones before sending me home hopefully on Monday.

This 1st cycle has been a learning curve as to how my body responded to the chemo. A positive is that I have not needed another ascitic fluid drain since before chemo. I also have lost naturally a lot of fluid that my body was holding onto...between 10-14lbs of it in about a week! I feel so much lighter without it and realise what strain cancer is putting on every part of me.

Today I have noticed some hair shedding so that is my next side effect to contend with it seems. I hope to persevere with the cold-cap going forward.
