Prostate Cancer now in Pelvis

Hi,

I’m new to the forum. I was treated for prostate cancer in 2022 - surgery, radiotherapy, hormones. My PSA level has increased since I finished hormone treatment and I was sent for a PET scan. This revealed a recurrence of the cancer in my pelvic bone. My Urologist has referred me to an Oncologist for possible SABR radiotherapy.

I'm nervous about the fact that the cancer is now in my pelvis and unsure as to what the future holds.

  • Hi Mike,  I am sorry to hear that your cancer is now in your pelvis.  I hear that SABR radiotherapy can completely get rid of the cancer so fingers crossed you will have this and it will clear the cancer.  I know it is a worry when the cancer comes back but with all the new treatments, there is definitely hope.  I have secondary breast cancer and it has spread to pelvis, hips, spine, ribs and skull but the treatment I am on has made this stable and I have a good quality of life.  Wishing you all the best.

  • Thank you leelaloo. Wishing you all the best too.
