Hi Rileymmca,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
I am sorry to hear why you've joined us here. This is unfortunately, the club that nobody really wants to join! However, we are a friendly and supportive bunch and I'm sure that you'll soon be glad that you've found us. I am happy to see that you have already had your surgery and hope that you are recovering well. Did you have reconstruction and do you know what type and stage of breast cancer you had?
I agree that looking at all of the possible side-effects of chemo is daunting, but not everyone gets them all. I haven't had chemo, but I'm sure that someone who has will be along to chat with you soon. If you have any particular concerns, write them down along with any questions you have and take this list with you when you see the oncologist. It is all too easy to forget something important during your consultation. Many of us feel lost and alone on this journey, but you are not any longer. There is always someone here to support you, to answer any questions or give the advice of their cancer experience. Now that you have found us, you need never be lonely again.
I had a double mastectomy 15 years ago and I am still keeping well an leading a busy and fulfilling life. Hopefully, you will too. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Thank you for your kind words.I'll check my cancer type later as it 3am and my husband is sleeping.I have gotten my 4 hours sleep,I am finding that so strange as I was a great sleeper.I could sleep full 8 hours ,but then I was working.Needless to say I am scared,I'm the only member of my siblings to have cancer .will let you know how I get on with oncologist
My cancer diagnosis is
Right breast grade 3 lobular carcinoma oestrogen positive progesterone receptor negative HER 2 Negative.i have no idea what that all means.this is a journey i never envisioned I'd take.but it's here now so I gotta make the best of it.let me know what you think.
Have a great day.x
Hi Rileymmca, so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I had stage 3, grade 2 lobular breast cancer with oestrogen and progesterone positive and HER 2 - same as you. I had lumpectomy as have large breasts then chemo and then radiotherapy. It had spread to one lymph node too. I did not do the cold cap with chemo as it adds on about 2 and a half hours to chemo. I just wanted to wish you luck with your oncology appointment this week. Definitely take someone with you. My husband attends all my oncology appointments with me as I forget what he says sometimes and my husband remembers a lot more than me. Macmillan have a breast cancer forum which I am on and it is very supportive and helpful. Good luck and I am on here most days if you just want to chat. Like Jolamine says, we are here for you so you are not alone .

Hi Leelaloo ,how did you cope with chemo?I'm worried about it,well worried about the after effects.l also found a small lump in my other breast just the other day so I go see my nurse tomorrow. Every way I turn it seems to be getting worse.Today was a bad day a bit of a pity party was going on.Im scared of what ill hear tomorrow x
Hi rileymmca chemo was hard but I got through it and so will you. The side effects can be counteracted by medication that they give you. Good luck with your appointment today. Let us know how you get on. Big hugs.

Hi Rileymca,
I hope that your appointment today went well. Cancer feeds on oestrogen. The fact that you are oestrogen and progesterone positive means that your cancer will respond to hormone therapy which should slow down the growth of any cancer or even prevent it altogether. It is also better to be HER 2 negative instead of HER2 positive as HER2 negative status is less aggressive. How did you get on when you saw the nurse today about your other breast?
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi my friend.appoint ment with breast nurse was fine.because I had a lumpectomy on the left breast she said it was fluid and just healing.conversation with oncologist went well
