Newly diagnosed - Stage 4 Lung Cancer

Hi I am new here.....diagnosed today with Stage 4 Lung cancer. Nothing they can do. Maximum 1 year left. I am still in shock i think. Definitely wasn't expecting to hear that I've only got a year left, (which obviously could mean 3 weeks or 7 months from now!!!?!?¡) especially as I've got COPD and Emphysema to cope with.....does anyone have any advice/ opinion on what I do next?!?! Im 46 year old woman btw. Thanks for your time xx

    Hi Nicolajane,  I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.  Are you not having any treatment at all?  Can you ask your oncologist if there are any trials that you can go on?  You are so young that there must be something that they can do.  I mean I have incurable cancer but I am having treatment to stop it spreading even more and to stabilize it.  I would definitely ask about trials etc.  Good luck and sending you hugs.

    PS Another person on a forum was told nothing they could do and gave her six months.  She went on a trial and this was in 2013 and she is still here.
