Recurring ulcer side of tongue

Hi everyone,

I have had a recurring ulcer on the right side of my tongue for a couple of months now and everytime it seems like it's going to go it comes back again, it has like white circle around it and it's sore and deep in the middle.

I don't know if I'm biting my tongue in the night because sometimes I wake up with blood in my mouth and then I check and it's 'popped' again.

I'm a 35 year old non drinker (very occasionally) and non smoker. I did once have hpv the bad strains (18?) I think and had to have LLETZ treatment following an abnormal smear test.

I'm hoping to hear back from some of you ️ thank you for taking the time to read this. X

  • hi
please go to the dr and ask them to have a look. The fact that p16 is linked to the hpv increase in throat cancers I would rather be safe than sorry.
Im sure its nothing but head and neck cancers are on the increase due to the hpv virus and in times of hormone changes in women dormant hpv can pop back up. The earlier you find out the quicker and easier it would be to treat. head and neck cancer treatment is brutal although it has very good success rates the getting there is no walk in the park even compared to other cancer treatments
please go .... I didnt, for 10 months and now I have been diagnosed with cancer. I promise you you'll wish you has gone sooner x

    take care

  • Hi love, thank you so much for your kind words and support and for replying back to me, I'm sorry to hear that you got diagnosed, I witnessed my mum go through treatment for head and neck cancer (nasopharyngeal cancer) and it has changed her life. I will keep you in my thoughts and all the best for the future. Xx
