There is hope - I had metastatic cancer which went to my brain

I had a right  hemicolectomy back in May of 2020 so on the 30th of May this year I will be 5 years clear..unfortunately at the same time of diagnosis I also was given the news that I also had lung cancer albeit a different cancer  which I was told about..next I had a metastatic cancer which went to my brain I now have two brain tumours and then my lung flared up again ....more chemo and radiation  followed ...o and did I mention I already had C.O.P.D.........I've just had my three monthly scans and up to now I am stable.. I'm writing  this hopefully  giving hope to some cancer patients who are finding it hard to except their diagnosis and to say there is hope..I'm living my life everyday is a bonus and I thank God...

  • Hello Bongo,

your post is an inspiring read and points to such an tmportant role in amongst the myriad of evolving treatments of ths horrid affliction, showing there is one constant positive that remains, the ability of the patient to discover the resilience within themselves to keep moving forward, and the tenacity to do this through the most testing of times.

The positive mindset that alludes to the opinion that you do not live with cancer, it has to live with you on your terms, and that its future security within you is no longer a foregone conclusion, plays such a strong part in the overall treatment in overcoming this insidious invader.

l applaud your personal resolve and hold it up as a signpost to the path of hope, and a template to the future possibilities for all those that currently tread the journey to a cancer recovery and those who will follow

all power and strength to your mind and future
