Liver surveillance for liver Cancer

Hi I was told 4 years ago I had chirosis, I have had liver surveillance checks every 6 months, I had an ultrasound 6 weeks ago. ( On the Saturday ),Got a phone call (on the Monday) saying need  have blood tests and an MRI scan , I had these done 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything until today, I got a letter stating I have a gastroenterology telephone appointment in 6 weeks time, I don't know whether to see this as potential good or bad news xx

  • Hi Bingobango888,

It's hard to know really what it all means but it might be worth trying to find out whether you can access your blood test and MRI scan results prior to your appointment. It might be worth ringing your surgery to try and find out more. 6 weeks is still a while to have to wait to fully understand the outcome of these investigations and I hope that your telephone appointment will go well and that it will all turn out to be reassuring news.

Keeping everything crossed for you for good results,
