Donate my body for cancer research

I am diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is a form blood cancer, there isn’t a cure yet for.  I would like to donate my body to cancer research when i die. Where do I start and are cancer patients bodies accepted for research?

  • Hi  Bon2win, as you probably know, having cancer rules you out of being an organ donor, so I am having my body donated to my local university's human sciences department for future medical professionals, I'm not sure if you can donate for cancer specific research, but if you want to donate to a medical teaching university, just go on the university's webpage and type in body donation

  • Hello Bon2win,

I'm sorry to hear about her diagnosis. Unfortunately, it's not possible to ask for your body to be used only for research into a certain disease, but you can donate your body for teaching or non specific research. You can read more about donating your body for medical research, including what you need to think about, how to plan for this and what is involved on our website.

    I hope this helps,
