Brief Introduction.

Just a brief potted history as to why I am on the forum.
Testicular cancer in 1983/84 left side orchiectomy with radiotherapy.

Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma diagnosed in 2013 and put on active surveillance. Had regular biopsies etc. and then in October 2016 underwent 6 cycles of R-Chop chemotherapy followed by 15 cycles of radiotherapy.

2024 after CT and PET scans showed nodule in right lung a CT guided lung biopsy was carried out on the 21st November 2024. On the 29th of November lung cancer confirmed (Adenocarcinoma). It was then arranged for me to be admitted to hospital for a right VATS S2 segmentectomy on January 17th 2025.

Prior to this I also had a needle biopsy of the lymph nodes under my right arm on 27th December 2024, I received the results on the 15th January and was told the biopsies have shown I have Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and that for now I would be put on active monitoring. My next appointment is at the end of March 2025.

The lung surgery went well apart from getting Chylothorax post surgery, however after nearly a month I am now at home waiting for the results of the biopsies of the lung to see if I will require any more treatment in the future, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.

I will try and keep this updated.

  • Hi Ben

my partner has virginal cancer with tumors and finding others in the same position is difficult as it is not a common cancer. In addition her doctor for some stupid reason did a biopsy on a cyst on her left vulva that did not heal due to the cancer cells preventing this and now she has an open wound larger than an egg, so overall she is suffering greatly from pain and very little support i am very angry

    Regard Ray

  • Hi Ray,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to hear of the situation with your partner - I can understand this must be difficult for both of you.

I hope that she is able to get some relief from the pain soon. Do make sure you/she are in contact with the relevant doctor or medical team, especially to inform them of any pain or other difficulties, so that she can get the help she needs.

I also hope that this forum can be of some support to you. You may want to create a new discussion on here, so that you can hopefully get some relevant replies and support from others on the forum. There is some guidance for creating a new discussion here. Your partner is of course also welcome to do the same if she wanted to speak to others.

    Wishing you all the best,
