Recently Diagnosed Stage 3 High Grade Ovarian Cancer

Hello everyone I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage 3 high grade ovarian cancer.
I had my operation in December and the tumour has been removed, however, it had spread prior to the operation, and I will be having chemo shortly.
I am a very positive person, but have been told that the two chemo medications Carboplatin and Paciltaxel I will be having are very invasive, and I am scared of what will come.
Has anyone got experience of these medications please?

  • Hello there. My wife had both these chemotherapy drugs in 2024 and the only side effects that she had was a bit of numbess in her feet and a bit of nausea after having the carboplatin otherwise no other side effects which happened about 3 days after the infusion. You will probably be given some anti-sickness medicine and a 24 hour helpline to contact should you experience any symptoms. She also had the immunotherapy drug Bevacizumab (aka Avastin) which enhanced the effects of the chemo. She did also wear a cold cap which stopped the majority of her hair falling out on her scalp.
