I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. It's understandable that you're feeling scared by this news and the prospect of what may happen next. 

Have the team said what tests they want to do to see if you are able to have surgery? Hopefully, it won't take too long and the team will then be able to give you some answers and reassurance. 

It's good to hear that you have the support of family around you. It's understandable that they want to make a fuss to show their support but it's also perfectly normal that you don't feel you want, or need, that at the moment. Don't be afraid to tell them that you appreciate their love and support and perhaps there are other ways that they can be more helpful to you at the moment. 

If there's anything you'd like to talk through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can while you're waiting for news.

Sorry about your diagnosis and how you are feeling about it, I can relate to what you are saying about not wanting a fuss from your family I feel the same too.

I told them that I appreciate their support but want to be able to process it first myself & that I would let them know if I needed anything or wanted to talk, They were very understanding as said to me they understand it has come as a shock to all.

Please do reach out to your hospital care team and also to this very valuable platform. Remember you are not alone.
