Fit test

Good afternoon all.

I already have stage 3b Melanoma and i and 3/4 through treatment of Dab and Tram.

My post is not about Melanoma though.

About 3 weeks ago my GP said I was anemic and my hemoglobin was down to 120 so asked me to do a fit test.

I did the fit test and it came back positive which he said was a low score i.e 30ug (means nothing to me).

Now I am going to have a Colonoscopy on the 18th November with sedation which I am really looking forward too as I have never had on before and just hear so many bad things about the procedure.

When I spoke to my oncologist for my melanoma about it, I asked her did anything show up on my thorax / Pelvis CT scan with contrast in August and she replied no it was all clear.

So now I am just hoping that in if I do have bowel cancer it will be early stages.

Can i adk if 30ug a low reading ?

Took me months to terms with my Melanoma diagnosis now I have this to worry about.

I don't think any of us signed up for this, did we

    Hi 30 is definitely a low score it can go up into the high hundreds but the cut off is 10 for being ok so its best to get checked out ,Ive just had a Colonoscopy and they will tell you there and then if they see anything  that needs more checks so it is a good thing, I would just take this opportunity to take the test even if just for the future .

    Hi the Colonoscopy looked fine although they took 2 biopsies and I will be having a CT scan this week ,so we'll see ,you're bound to be worried it a natural reaction .if you need to know anything just ask .

    Hi Jenny.

    So glad it looked fine, fingers crossed with the CT scan.

    My oncologist for my Melanoma said my Thorax / Pelvis CT scan with contrast didn't show anything bad with my bowel and said that is promising.

    But she did say it can't pick up any very small cells that might cause bleeding within the bowel like tumors, growths or lumps that have not formed.

    So I will have to see how it all goes.
